Grab The Games: Grim Fandango Remastered

Manny Calavera is back and he is ready to take in a trip down the memory lane. This game brings back a lot of childhood memories when I was playing the original title and this remastered edition made me really happy and excited as I was while playing the game as a child. Let me first introduce the game to our readers who may haven't heard this game. Grim Fandango Remastered is the new game by Double Fine Production. Something's rotten in the land of the dead, and you're being played for a sucker. Meet Manny Calavera, travel agent at the Department of Death. He sells luxury packages to souls on their four-year journey to eternal rest. But there's trouble in paradise. Help Manny untangle himself from a conspiracy that threatens his very salvation.

One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango's epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won Game Spot's Game of the Year award upon its original launch. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore. You will ask me what the Remastered edition includes. This version includes Repainted, hi-res character textures, New, dynamic lighting, Classic score re-recorded with a full live orchestra, over 2 hours of exclusive developer commentary and concept art browser.

This is an absolute classic and it doesn't matter how many years pass it will still be worth playing and picking it up. I loved how the whole remaster was done. It really enhanced the experience of the game and it looks better than the original with no doubt. The graphics look good, improved, with more light and colors. The music is also amazing and the fact that it was recorded by an orchestra makes it even better. It is a total cult point and click adventure with modern twists. Moreover the controls of the game are better than the original and this was something I was really happy to see. However the only thing I didn't like was the two bars on the left and the right of the screen so you can get a widescreen experience. I know it was inevitable to be honest but I still find it weird.

To sum up, the game offers a classic experience to everyone who loved the original game and to the people that like playing this type of games. It is totally recommended by me with eyes closed.

Verdict: 9/10 "Must own classic game"
