Grab The Games: The Red Solstice

Time to review another amazing game. This time I present you The Red Solstice. But what is TRS and is it worth picking up? The Red Solstice is a tactical, squad-based survival game set in the distant future on Mars, playable in single-player or with up to 8 players in cooperative online multiplayer.

Roam freely over huge maps, complete randomized objectives and deal with surprise events that keep you on the edge of your seat. Survive and conquer by any means necessary. Get stronger every time. Level up to unlock new weapons and abilities. Try to survive the storm. The first thing that impressed me in the game is that even thought it can be played in pretty much all PCs the graphics remain beautiful. There are a lot of different environments where the game takes place and an amazing plot that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. Furthermore, the game has a large single-player mode that it will take up to 30 hours to complete. You can upgrade and level up your squad of four marines.

There is also a huge variety of equipment and weapons that you can equip your team. Moreover, I love the mix of tactical mode and shoot-everything-that-moves aspect. The tactical mode is extremely helpful and you can plan carefully your next moves and survive longer in the game which is far from easy by the way. The aspect that truly makes the game shine is the multiplayer. The Red Solstice offers an 8 player co-op experience (yes 8) with random generated events, more classes to unlock and an amazing level up system that will definitely keep you hooked.

There are 6 large open-world maps in multiplayer that you can play with your friends. There is also a survival mode available in the single-player mode as well. However, there are a few negative aspects that I should mention. First and foremost, both in single player and multiplayer the mission can get a little bit repetitive and boring sometimes. Another negative for me is that in the single player you will be quickly left on your own without any guidance and even on normal things can get extremely challenging.

To sum up, The Red Solstice is a really fun game to play with friends or on your own. The game has huge potential and despite the negative aspects I totally recommend it to everyone that loves good RPG/top-down shooting games. Give this title a try it will not let you down!

Verdict: 8/10
