Grab The Games: The Council

After a long and hard day, I thought it was about time to start my review for the upcoming game The Council. The title is an episodic game like no other. Delivering a fresh new take on the Narrative Adventure, your choices, and character growth truly matter. Make hard-hitting decisions, but also develop an array of skills to directly impact how the story unfolds. With permanent, long-lasting consequences, there is no going back. Plunge into a tale of intrigue and manipulation in the style of a classic murder mystery, living with a cast of alluring characters each hiding their dark secrets.

Trust no one while uncovering terrible truths – no matter the cost to mind and body. The Council begins in 1793, with players taking the role of secret society member Louis de Richet after his invitation to a private island off the shores of England by the enigmatic Lord Mortimer. Joining him are some high profile guests, including Napoleon Bonaparte and President of the newly-formed United States of America, George Washington. The strange nature of this private reception goes beyond just the prestigious guests –Richet’s mother has recently gone missing on the island, while every one of the colorful cast seems to have their hidden agendas. But is the title any good? Is it worth picking it up right or maybe later on sale? Stick around and find out.

To begin with, the first thing that I loved is the graphics. They are sharp, unique and create a fantastic atmosphere. The levels and the whole world where the game takes place is well-designed, full of details and interactive objects that add more depth to the already fantastic story. Now that I mentioned the story of the game, it offered excellent suspense and kept me on the edge of my seat. Furthermore, the social influence system is impressive to be honest. The skill you choose and how you use them can help you uncover more about what happened to Richet's mother and how he fits in all of this.

I should not forget to mention, that the consequences of your actions are permanent, and may result in persistent physical disfigurements or mental traits that help or hinder the rest of the player’s adventure. What's what makes the title unique. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, the only thing I can mention is that it is tough to unlock skills for the other classes. I would prefer if it was easier so that you can fully take advantage of this opportunity and use them more during the story.

To sum it all up, the title offers a unique experience and after playing only the 1st episode, I have positive aspects to mention. I definitely recommend it to all our readers to pick it up immediately and give it a go.
