Grab The Games: Rampage Knights

Rampage Knights is a game inspired by Blinding of Isaac and Golden Axe two of my favorite games. But what is truly RK? Rampage Knights is a cooperative beat 'em up game mixed up with randomized dungeon crawling and exploration, which you can play alone or with a friend online. You play as a hero trapped by a spell in a magical forest.

All paths lead you to a nearby ruined castle, infested with goblins, skeletons and other foul creatures. Here you must find the source of the black magic covering the land and break it! Gear up with awesome and ridiculous weapons and spells and descend into the deep labyrinth below the ruin to face its sinister master and break the curse. The first thing that I loved in this game is the random generated environment that it is never the same but they all lead to the same place and they are all full of enemies and bosses. Another thing worth mentioning is that there are a lot of classes to choose from with different pros and cons each one of them.

Personally, I love the barbarian class more because it offers some good/classic slice and dice. There are also a lot of items to loot with different properties that will help you crash your enemies easier. I like also the fact that the hero is evolving learning new abilities as you progress (more things implemented in the future) and there will be achievements and a lot of more things in the future. The game is an early access title but it has a lot of features making the game worth playing.

The title is also worth of replaying over and over. However, there are some negative aspects. The first one is that with some abilities you can get hurt yourself too as well hurt your enemies. Another negative for me is that the game will be much better with a small tutorial that will explain the basic to the players and introduce them to the world of Rampage Knights. The game also will be much better with some local co-op but the multiplayer 2 people co-op is good as well.

To sum up, the game offers some good roquelike slice and dice fun and while it remains loyal to games like Blinding of Isaac and Golden Axe, it is not a copy of them. Really worth playing!

Verdict: 8/10

+roquelike aspect

+customization (different classes, character customization etc)

+items to loot and character evolution

-you can hurt yourself and the enemies with some abilities

-needs tutorial

-needs local co-op but the multiplayer is not bad at all
