Grab The Games: iRacing Studios NASCAR 26

Another day, another review for our fans! Today we’re getting behind the wheel of iRacing Studios NASCAR 26, the latest official NASCAR racing experience that brings the intensity of stock car racing to PC and consoles. NASCAR 26 immediately gives you the feeling that you’re stepping into a proper NASCAR experience. With all four NASCAR National Series represented, plenty of cars and tracks to race on, and a variety of game modes including Career, Quick Race, Championship and Multiplayer, there is plenty here for racing fans to get into.

One of the biggest improvements is the driving experience. The enhanced physics make the cars feel more convincing on the track, while the laser-scanned assets help recreate the tracks with impressive attention to detail. The dynamic track system also adds another layer to the racing, making every lap feel a little more important as you learn how the car reacts to different conditions. I particularly enjoyed how different the races can feel depending on the circuit. NASCAR isn’t simply about putting your foot down and turning left. Managing your position, staying in the draft, finding the right line and avoiding trouble are all important parts of the experience. When you’re surrounded by other cars and fighting for every position, the racing can become incredibly intense. The Career mode also gives you a reason to keep coming back. Starting your journey and gradually improving your car creates a satisfying sense of progression, while the different NASCAR series give you plenty of racing to experience. There is a nice balance between getting out on the track and working your way through your career.

The presentation is another strong point. The combination of licensed NASCAR content, detailed cars and tracks, real-world drivers and an authentic race-day atmosphere helps NASCAR 26 feel like a proper representation of the sport. The improved visuals are also a welcome step forward and make the races look much better than before. The new cross-play multiplayer is another welcome addition. Being able to race against players on different platforms makes it easier to find opponents and gives the multiplayer side of the game more flexibility. When the racing gets close and you’re battling several cars around you, multiplayer can deliver some genuinely exciting moments.

If I had to mention a negative, I really wish NASCAR 26 had a couch co-op or local split-screen mode. Racing games are perfect for sitting next to a friend or family member and competing on the same screen, and having this option would have made the experience even more enjoyable. The game offers online multiplayer and cross-play, but for me, local multiplayer would have been a great addition.

To sum it all up, iRacing Studios NASCAR 26 is a solid NASCAR racing experience that improves on the formula with better physics, detailed laser-scanned tracks, dynamic racing conditions and a strong selection of cars, series and game modes.

The lack of couch co-op is something I would definitely like to see addressed, but it doesn’t take away from the quality of the racing itself. If you’re a NASCAR fan or simply enjoy competitive stock car racing, NASCAR 26 offers plenty of exciting laps and a good amount of content to keep you behind the wheel.
