Grab The Games: Dungeon Defenders II

Dungeon Defenders 2 is one of the games I was really excited in playing and offers high replay value and a lot of other aspects that makes the game even more worth buying. But what is DD2 according to the steam page of the game?

The Old Ones' armies have invaded Etheria and it's up to you and your friends to push them back! Create a team of heroes to take into battle. Then freeze, burn, and electrocute enemies with your deadly defenses or jump into the action yourself to finish them off! Play by yourself or with up to three friends in 4-player online co-op. Need help on the battlefield? Fuse and upgrade your loot in The Tavern, then level up your Heroes' Defenses and Abilities through hero-specific Specs! The first thing that I loved in this game is that from the very beginning you are straight in the center of the action. You spawn in a tavern full of allies and with one or 2 clicks you will start playing the game. Furthermore, I loved that the whole game mechanics are redesigned compared to the previous titles. There is more emphasis in the fights and in summoning towers.

There are more improvements with the new camera, hotkeys, split abilities and tower creating systems and many more improvements that make the game worth picking up. Furthermore, there is an all new loot system with relics, weapons, armors and even pets. Also you can find loot while playing the game but the rarity of the loot depends of how many people play with you. The more, the better. The game supports 4 players online co-op. I also loved the new environmental trap. There are ton more enemies and bossed to fight alone or with your friends. A very important thing for me is that the whole road to full access is really clear. You can see everything that will be implemented in the future.

There are so many things to discover in this game! The graphics and the animations are extremely improved as well. However, there are some negative things that I have to mention. One of the aspects I didn't like is the micro transactions in the game. For me it is an unnecessary feature but it may give more to the game. Another negative for me is that there are currently only 4 classes but more will come in the future and there is only online mode and not a co-op which hopefully will come in the future as well. The game needs also a small tutorial in order to learn the ropes

To sum up, the game is now more that a tower defense game with a great emphasis in combat. I totally recommend it especially if you are fun of the series. Really straight forward game and that delivers what it promises.

Verdict: 8/10
