Grab The Games: Darksiders Warmastered Edition

Another day, another review for our fans. Today, I couldn't be happier not only that we have the opportunity to review it but also that we are going to present why this title is as cool as it sounds! But what is this version any way? Is it worth the hype? Should you pick it up when available? (If you don't already own it) Stick around and you will find out now. Let's start by mentioning a few things about the game itself. Let's start with the story.

Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War the first Horseman of the Apocalypse stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth. Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible. Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication. To begin with, the very first aspect that really impressed me is the graphics and in general the art work of the title. They are really sharp and create an amazing atmosphere for even the most demanding players.

With the Warmastered Edition the title now supports up to 4k video output resolution, doubles textures, all cutscenes are now in high quality. Moreover, there is better shadow quality, better frame rate and more graphics options. So in general you should expect a more up-to-date experience. Furthermore, the game remains as epic as you imagine it. You can unleash the wrath of War, combining brutal attacks and supernatural abilities to decimate all who stand in your way. The weapons are also a big advantage in the game.

From your powerful sword to the mighty scythe you will find a huge arsenal during your journey which is really awesome. I also loved the character progression in the title. You can upgrade pretty much everything from your abilities to your weapons with various gears and other stuff you will find in game. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, the only thing I didn't like in the game is the glide system which is sometimes laggy and you are forced to start all over especially when there are these blue orbs that lift you higher. Another small negative for me is definitely the save system that it is locked in checkpoints mostly and you cannot save the game wherever you are.

To sum up, the game is really amazing despite the negative aspects and is definitely worth picking it up. The free upgrade for owners of the original is a good move from the company and even if you don't own it there is a big discount on the steam store. So, no excuse for not getting it.

Verdict: 8/10
