Grab The Games: Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition

The Darksiders franchise is back and this time with the Deathinitive Edition of Darksiders 2. But is it good? What are the changes compared to the original Darksiders 2? We will find out right now! First and foremost, let me introduce you Darksiders in case you don't know what this game is about. In this game become the terrifying force which everything fears but nothing can escape.

Awakened by the End of Days, Death, the most feared of the legendary Four Horsemen embarks on a quest to redeem his brother's name. Along the way, the Horseman discovers that an ancient grudge may threaten all of Creation. Death lives! To begin with, in the Deathinitive Edition of the game you get all the previously released DLCs! And when I say all, I mean EVERYTHING which enhances the whole playtime of the game. Moreover, the looting system has been reworked and improved and it is fairer now and you will be able to find more loot and better one as you level up. Nordic games have also upgraded the rendering engine so it can provide higher and better visuals especially in lighting and shadows but at the same time it can run in old PCs as well without any particular problem. Another huge improvement is that the game can now run in 1080p native resolution and also that some levels, characters and environments have been reworked and the game looks better than ever.

Moreover, we should also mention some aspects that made the game popular on the first place. The customization aspect is really good in this game and you can customize your experience with varied armor sets, weapons, and Skill Trees allowing you to create your own Death. Another positive aspect is the high replayability of the game. There are numerous side quests and a really big skill tree which promise hours of fun. Unfortunately, these are the only positive aspect in this edition of the game. The first negative aspect is that the game had a crush bug when it came out especially when loading a save game.

Some people also experience stuttering especially in low setting. Another HUGE negative for me is that the game is only free for those who have the franchise pack of the series. If you own the original Darksiders 2 and all DLCs you will have to pay again to get this version (there is an 80% off during the 1st week of release) .Furthermore, apart from the changes that I mentioned before everything else in the game is the same so it would be like playing the same game again and again. Another negative is that in lower resolution the game looks and feels the same as the 1st one.

To sum up, honestly Darksiders 2 as a game is amazing but this version is not worth it for the people who have already bought Darksiders 2 and all DLCs especially if they have to buy it again! For people who haven't played Darksiders 2 or don't have all the DLCs the Deathinitive Edition is really worth picking up!

Verdict (for the Deathinitive Edition ONLY): 7/10
