Grab The Games: Battlefield 4

To those unfamiliar with the franchise,Battlefield 4 is the latest installment in the Battlefield series,it is a First person shooter and was released on the Xbox 360,the Play station 3 and the PC at the end of October 2013. It was later released on the Xbox one and PS4 as well.

Battlefield has been famous for its genre defining multiplayer modes and beautiful graphics and it would not be an exaggeration to say they have done it yet again.

The game is powered by frostbite 3 engine and the devs have taken full advantage of this engine to make the game look and play at its best.

The Campaign is about 6 hours long which is neither too short nor too long by today's standards for a semi-sandbox game. You play as Sgt. Daniel "Reck" Recker a member of a U.S. special operations squad. And as it is often with First person shooters recently, your objective is to stop another world war essentially and of course, you play the key part in this situation. The story is nothing extraordinary but it is the characters that bring down the SP campaign aspect of the game. The characters seem hollow and the player cannot connect with them enough to care what happens to them and that's where its a downhill. Battlefield games were never any good at campaign story lines and it seems they still haven't figured out a way out of this particular predicament. The only reason to play the campaign is to unlock weapons or to collect Dog tags for online use.
But if you are buying Battlefield 4,i am sure it is not to check out the campaign, but to loose yourself in the vastness of its multiplayer.

The Multiplayer consists of a couple of new modes like Obliteration and defuse in addition to the classic Team Death Matches,Rush,Conquest,Capture the flag,Domination and the Battlefield exclusive Air superiority mode.
There are four classes or "kits" that can be customized and used each with their own specific weapons and equipment's. The classes include the Assault,Engineer, support and recon kits. You can switch between them at any point during the matches.
There is an array of vehicles to choose from which include not only air and ground but the all new water vehicles as well all of which can be further customized in every way, from the ammo and the guns to the camo.
And all these vehicles are well utilized as the maps in Battlefield 4 are huge with destructible environments. You have the complete freedom to go anywhere you want and do what you want HOW you want, for example you can create your own path through a building if you wish so and the Frostbie 3 engine does all this with style and the spectacular beauty.
There is so much to do in this game that it will keep you occupied for hours at a time and will keep you coming back for more.
But as good as all that sounds, the game was rushed to the market and is still riddled with problems even after 5 months of release. After downloading over 6GB of patches, you still might not be able to play the game how it was meant to be played.

Final thoughts: Battlefield 4 is a great game, has much to offer Multiplayer wise, but it was rushed and is not what a finished product should look like. Although if you have the patience to deal with the every so often crash and error, then it is definitely worth a try for the casual as well as hardcore gamer.
