Grab The Games: Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile

Another day, another review for our fans! This summer I read Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, so naturally I was really eager to see how the story would be brought to life as a video game. Let’s take a look at how this adaptation plays out. The game invites you aboard the luxurious Karnak steamer for a faithful retelling of one of Christie’s most famous mysteries. You take on the role of Poirot himself and his assistant, tasked with questioning suspects, collecting evidence, and piecing together the tangled web of motives behind a murder most foul.

Visually, the title captures the atmosphere quite well, with lavish environments, detailed character models, and a strong art direction that brings the Nile and all places described in the book to life. The dialogue and voice acting are central to the experience, and they do a great job of keeping the mystery engaging and immersive.

The gameplay leans heavily on exploration and investigation. You’ll be talking to every passenger, investigating objects, and filling in your notes to make progress. The narrative keeps you invested, especially if you’re a fan of the original novel or Christie’s works in general.

As for the negatives, I did find two things worth mentioning. First, the unskippable dialogue can sometimes slow the pace, especially if you’re replaying certain sections. Second, it can be a little tricky at times to track down every piece of information needed to complete your notes about each suspect, which can break the flow of the investigation .

To sum it all up, Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile is a faithful and enjoyable adaptation that brings one of the greatest detective stories to life in an interactive way. If you’ve ever wanted to step into Poirot’s shoes and solve this classic case yourself, this is definitely worth checking out.
